I still, to this point, haven’t heard a single word from anyone at Snapper Trailers. I don’t really expect to since this is a back-woods operation!
I received a return email from Richard Hernandez quoting me for a custom build. After deciding I didn’t have time to wait for one to be built, I called the Fayetteville NC location and Richard Hernandez answered. After figuring out what they had on the lot, I decided on a 7x16 TA. I asked Richard to send me pictures just so I could verify the condition (since I was driving almost 12 hours each direction to pick it up).
He wouldn’t send me any information on the exact trailer, which already made me a little skeptical. The only thing he did do enthusiastically was take a deposit ($100) on the trailer. I decided to ignore my instincts and buy the trailer anyway, since it was a decent price. I drove down there a few days later and arrived early (@8:30 am).
The “store” is a double wide with no company signage or indication it is a business at all. The grass/weeds were completely over growing the property and it looked entirely run down. The only indication I was at the right place was the fact there were trailers in a fenced in area. As I waited, another customer pulled in and was waiting for the store to open.
He was telling me that he had bought a trailer from them and as he was driving to Pennsylvania the siding ripped of the trailer in the wind and that he called snapper and they told him to drive it to Georgia, since that’s where all of the warranty work happens. He fixed the trailer himself (quick fix to get where he was going) by buying some screws and putting it back together. He was stopping in on his way home to Florida to try to reason with him. This man told me about another trailer dealer just down the road, that had more helpful staff and people that stand behind their products.
As I was waiting I had a wrench light come on on my dash that had something to do with a malfunction in my power train so I had to leave to get it checked out at a dealership since I was so far from home.
Now I was hours late, sitting in a dealership, waiting to see if I was going to make it home or not. Afraid that time wasn’t going to allow and/or my budget, depending on what they found at the dealership, I emailed Richard and explained my situation and told him I would have to hold off on the deal for now and asked him to refund my $100 deposit. He IMMEDIATELY called me and said, “if you look at the quote, you’ll see that the deposit is non refundable”. I told him that I only received a quote for a custom ordered trailer, not for the lot trailer that was already sitting in stock.
I said that I would understand if the deposit was kept if I had ordered a trailer but I didn’t. Then he started getting angry and telling me that he had already turned away 3 people that wanted to buy it and that they had to take it off the internet because I put a deposit on it. The listing NEVER came down off their website .. I had just looked at it again that morning.
We went back and forth. He told me that they could hang on to my deposit for up to one year and that I could put it towards the purchase of another trailer at another time. I explained to him that if they kept my $100 that I wouldn’t be buying a trailer from Snapper trailers anyway. I explained again that not knowing the condition of my truck and the expense, I didn’t know that I could spare the $100 being wrapped up in a trailer that I didn’t know if I was going to buy anymore.
He fed me lines saying “I just work here, I can ask my boss if we can refund the money” and kept repeating it. I asked him why he was so intent on scamming me out of this $100. He clearly never said it was non-refundable. He was IRATE at this point.
He was screaming into the phone, frustrated that I wasn’t going to roll over and yelled “I’ll tell you what, I’ll give you back your money but don’t ever call Snapper Trailers again. I’m going to put you on a list and we won’t sell you a trailer”. I said,” perfect, thank you”! And he hung up on me as I was saying it.
Needless to say, the refund never came on it's own... I had to file a dispute with my credit card company, then it was returned.
Turns out, my truck was a warranty issue and didn’t cost me anything!! I went to the dealer down the road from Snapper and bought a 7x16TA, which had upgrades from the one I was going to get at snapper, for the same price and they threw in a spare tire. They were great to deal with!!
If you feel uneasy about your initial dealings with snapper trailers, listen to your instincts.
Buy somewhere else! This company is shady. It would have cost him nothing to return the money, instead, it cost him that sale and I had 2 co workers that were in the market for trailers too. I passed this story along to them and also, the contact information for the other dealership.
$15,000+ in sales lost in a sad attempt to steal a lousy $100. Way to go Snapper Trailers

Beware!
Where to begin. I purchased this trailer from Josh Herber on 08/13/18.
I purchased an 7x12 tandem enclosed trailer. I also added a ladder rack, studs 12 in. o/c and I changed my trailer height to 6'6". Josh was very prompt to respond and took my $500 deposit that day.
Fast forward to the day of pick up 09/21/18, I was driving from Greensboro NC to Pearson GA, a 7.5 hour drive. Half way there realizing that trailer pick up hours were between 12-4:30, I called to notify them that I may be 15 min. late (4:45). I called and got Jessica(you always get Jessica) she had no sympathy and basically told me I should hurry up.
After explaining to her that I was driving from two states away, she told me I needed to call the plant and make sure someone would still be there. I did, again basically told me "better get here or stay in GA over the weekend." Josh Herber dropped the ball and never even had them get my paperwork ready, luckily when I called the plant South Georgia Cargo they realized nobody had requested it to be put in and got that going for me. After driving to the wrong plant the first time and having to track someone down I finally got some help and figured out where I needed to be. When I got there I was met with very rude people asking me "if I knew I was late" "pick up hours are x-x" No customer care what-so-ever.
The original lady who said she would be there didn't even bother to stick around. They pulled my trailer up and told me to go out and check over everything. I did. It looked decent but the ladder rack was not on it and they did not space the studs correctly.
I walked in and informed Jose (A line worker they had check me out) I notified him and he told me he couldn't do anything about it and that I had to take it up with snapper. I was rushed through my paperwork, barely got a chance to thoroughly look over my product. After driving all day long I signed the paperwork so that I could leave with the trailer. Thinking it wouldn't be an issue and this company would make right.
I called Josh the following Monday to let him know that my expectations were not met. He said all he could do was refund my money for the work not done (now I have a trailer that was not what I ordered or expected) he said he would ship me the ladder rack. I said fine. I was already tired of dealing with these crooks.
A week and. half goes by and I call him back. I asked where my ladder rack was. He informed me that he was waiting on a shipment from the factory, he had to wait because they didn't send shipments until x orders were made.
I asked why are you not shipping it to my house? He responded because it was bulky and they welded them together. He said I would have to come pick them up 2 hours away in Fayetteville and install them myself. This was no big deal to him.
Again with no further compensation. I told him screw it and send all my money back. That was 2.5 weeks ago, 5 days before 10/15/18, I called and asked where my refund was, it had been 3 weeks since I requested a refund for the stud spacing not being correct and now it has been 2.5 weeks since I request a full refund. He told me they use "snail mail" and that he "checked" and It had been mailed the day I originally requested (9/24).
I called today 10/15 and got no answer instead it was the lovely Jessica (incompetent secretary) I asked for Josh and she said he wasn't available, I told he I was waiting on a refund and have been for almost a month now. She looked me up and stated there were no notes in the computer on the matter and no refunds had been issued. I got pretty irritated and upset and went off on her. She said she didn't have to deal with this and just hung up.
I called back and asked for her customer service number (as she told me to do before she hung up) she stated she just got off the phone with her "bookkeeper" and they would be calling me soon and would mail it out today. I have yet to receive a call. This company is a SHAM, they lead you to believe you are getting a quality product built by them. They send you no paperwork until you receive the trailer and then tell you "you knew about this".
You purchase this trailer from them with there name on it and any problem you have is the manufactures fault and problem. They do not stand behind their product and take your money and say screw you. I am at my wit's end, there is a lot of rust on this trailer it is not even a month old. The inside of the frame has rust in it.
They spray painted the frame. It has paint runs rolling down it. Overall I am now seeking to return this brand new trailer with rust all over it. Rust does happen over time, but this is just an example of poor quality.
They rig the trailer up so everything looks good when you take delivery and then it quickly starts falling apart. I have been doing a lot of research on this company, they have many complaints and issues, all responses are placing blame on the customer or that they "did their best". These people are thieves and need to be put out of business. I now expect to have the trailer returned with a full refund.
I am looking into filing a lawsuit against this company.
Here I am 10/15/18 having to force people to do the right thing and return money for work not completed and now come to find out I have a rusting "brand new" trailer. Stay Away!

So far so good
I also considered Express Trailers, although they were better quality, they were very expensive compared to Snapper.
Love the extra interior height & LED lights. Only issue so far is the round rubber piece on the back that the ramp lays on has come loose a couple times and I have tighten myself. That's the only issue so far. Biggest pro is the inexpensive price.
I only paid a little over $2k for it. You can buy others that are built with better quality but in the end you will pay much more for it. I asked the sales guy why they have so many bad reviews and he said some people try to haul things that are heavier than what the trailer is designed for and exceed it's limitations. I'm hauling musical equipment so it's not a very heavy load.
I figure if something goes wrong that makes me not want the trailer any more, I can just sell it and get most my money back. BTW I bought an in-stock trailer, (It wasn't ordered).

This place is a joke
I traveled 16 hours to buy a trailer that I saw online , called multiple times to make sure it was the exact trailer I left a deposit on before I made the trip , drove from pa to Georgia, only to pickup a trailer that wasn’t what I left a deposit on !! , after realizing this they said oh we’ll knock a hundred dollars off I said ok, and they threw in a spare tire , I was pressed for time , I stopped in North Carolina and realized after driving through the rain the white paint washed off and red paint was visible. Also doors we’re also place crooked , nothing was straight on the trailer , I’ve had it 4 months and rear door broke , warranty doesn’t cover this , stay away from this place a total ripoff , and better business bureau won’t do do anything , they have multiple complaints , and FYI , the manager lot Patrick always hides when you want to speak to him
Had a 27, car hauled built in ga factory

What's the "other" dealership? Hard to believe if you can't give a name.
That’s a strange thing to say? It’s hard to believe the review with like 10 paragraphs of detailed information because I didn’t list the place I bought from?
I bought my 7x16 (also 7’ tall) Forest River, TA, enclosed v-nose trailer from HGR’s Truck and Trailers... located at 4519 Marracco Drive, 301 S, Hope Mills NC 28348. Phone number is 910-425-****... www.hgrstrailer.com I hope this makes it plausible..
if not I guess I can send my credit card receipt and bill of sale. Thanks
And trust me, I realize you are just trolling but I decided to indulge you anyway.
